Introduction about Power in Diversity Retreat

At Lunita Jungle Retreat, we were born from a dream—a vision rooted in unity, love, and the deep belief that every soul deserves a place to heal, grow, and be seen. From the beginning, our mission has been to create a sanctuary where all people, regardless of skin color, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, or spiritual path, feel truly welcome and celebrated.

We understand that many spaces in the world—especially in wellness and spirituality—can sometimes feel exclusive or conditional. That’s why we’ve made it one of our core values to stand for inclusivity and equality. Whether you’re leading a sacred medicine retreat, a queer-centered experience, a yoga immersion, or a women’s empowerment journey, Lunita is your home.

Here, there is no “other.” We honor diversity as a strength, and we hold space from a place of compassion, not judgment; openness, not limitation. We believe in the power of human connection, in the healing that happens when we sit in a circle together, and in the wisdom that comes when we listen deeply—to each other, to the Earth, and to ourselves.

We are all one.

Our purpose is simple but profound: to offer a space where people from all walks of life can come together, drop their masks, and reconnect with their truest selves, supported by nature, community, and unconditional love.

Creating and Holding Space for Queer Communities

Dates: May 30 to June 2 and September 1 to 6

In a world where spirituality and wellness spaces often reflect a limited and exclusive perspective, our Power in Diversity - Queer Tantra Retreat Mexico offer revolutionary alternatives rooted in inclusivity, authenticity, and deep healing.

For many in the LGBTQ+ community, traditional spiritual teachings—including Tantra—have long been presented through heteronormative and patriarchal lenses. This filtering often results in queer individuals feeling unseen, unrepresented, or even unsafe in spaces that should foster self-exploration, emotional release, and spiritual growth.

Reclaiming Tantra as a Path for EVERYONE

Our Power in Diversity retreats reclaim Tantra as a practice for all beings—regardless of gender, sexuality, or identity. The first of our two retreats entitled Living Tantra for Men Who Love Men led by John Thomsen (also known as DaddyGuru), offer gay, bisexual or fluid men a transformative Tantra experience that is queer-centered, but with a lineage-rooted approach to traditional Tantra and its sacredness.

It’s more than a spiritual experience—it’s a homecoming.

Through thoughtfully curated practices, these retreats empower everyone to:

  • Reconnect with their bodies

  • Awaken and master kundalini energy

  • Explore intimacy and vulnerability in a safe and sacred container

  • Heal childhood traumas, heal societal shame and cultivate radical self-acceptance

Tantra has significant benefits in:

  • Self-awareness and realization

  • Self-love and love for life

  • Minimizing negativity and toxic subjectivity

  • Tapping into your personal power via vulnerability work

  • Alleviating anxiety

  • Improving upon connection and intimacy with others

  • Expression of feelings and experiences in a clearer manner

  • Eliminating ancestral trauma and toxic familial templates

  • Manifesting the reality you desire

and of course: Augmenting your sexual energy (kundalini) for high-vibrational, soul-nourishing sex.

What You’ll Experience

Participants are gently and skillfully guided through a range of Tantric and holistic healing practices, including:

Tantric Theory and Practice

Rooted in authentic teachings and respectfully adapted for queer identities and lived experiences.

  • Breathwork & Pranayama: Energetic activation and regulation through conscious breath—awakening life force and grounding awareness.

  • Ecstatic Movement & Somatic Flow: Embodiment practices that dissolve shame, cultivate pleasure, and liberate emotional expression.

  • Mantra & Sound Healing: Vocal toning, chanting, and vibrational tools to harmonize the body’s frequencies and open the heart.

  • Intimacy & Healing Exercises: Conscious connection techniques that foster trust, release trauma, and deepen emotional intimacy.

  • Sacred Temple Experiences: Ritual spaces including multi-hand massage and group ceremonies to explore touch as a sacred act of presence and transformation.

These practices are held with unwavering care and consent, allowing participants to experience healing on their terms—with sovereignty, safety, and deep support.

More Than Retreats—A Healing Communities

These retreats are not only about personal transformation. They are about creating a space where community is built through honesty, story-sharing, and collective healing.

  • Storytelling and Community Circles: Honest, vulnerable spaces where individuals are encouraged to share their truth and be witnessed without judgment.

  • Shared Ritual and Group Practice: Celebratory, heart-centered experiences where every voice, every expression, and every presence matters.

  • Radical Belonging and Visibility: Here, there is no need to shrink, edit, or conform. You are welcomed exactly as you are—with open arms and open hearts.

Sacred Medicine for Relationship and Identity Healing

One of the most transformative aspects of our Power in Diversity Retreats is the optional Psilocybin ceremony, held with deep reverence and trauma-informed care. Psilocybin—often referred to as “the medicine of the heart”—offers a gentle yet powerful journey into emotional clarity, inner truth, and expanded self-awareness.

In these retreats, the sacred mushroom is not used recreationally, but ceremonially. It is honored as an ancient plant teacher that helps participants reconnect with their authentic selves, process emotional wounds, and break down internalized shame around identity, love, and connection.

The Psilocybin ceremony is held in a sacred space, guided by experienced facilitators who ensure a safe and supportive container. This is an opportunity for deep introspection, spiritual awakening, and healing through love and presence.

Preparation guidance and post-ceremony integration support are thoughtfully provided, allowing participants to make the most of their experience and bring their insights into everyday life.

Scientific Insight:

Modern research supports what Indigenous cultures have long known—psilocybin can promote emotional healing and neuroplasticity. Studies from institutions like Johns Hopkins University have shown its ability to reduce symptoms of depression, PTSD, and anxiety, while also enhancing interpersonal connection and empathy. For queer individuals navigating identity and relational trauma, this medicine can offer a profound sense of freedom, self-love, and acceptance.

This journey is optional but deeply encouraged for those who feel called—it offers a portal into vulnerability, empowerment, and soul-level transformation. DaddyGuru will be offering the psilocybin option in his Living Tantra + MushLove for Men Who Love Men retreats.

A Sacred Invitation

Whether you’re:

  • Seeking to heal past wounds rooted in rejection or shame

  • Yearning to explore sensuality and sacred touch

  • Ready to deepen your spiritual path through authentic Tantra

  • Or simply craving a space where all of you is celebrated…

This retreat is your invitation to come home to yourself.

In the heart of the jungle, supported by nature and community, you’ll discover that healing isn’t a solo act—it’s a collective, sacred remembering. And spirituality, when held with compassion and intention, becomes a space of radical freedom, truth, and belonging.

Meet Your Guide: DaddyGuru

John Thomsen, also known as DaddyGuru, is a spiritual teacher, kundalini lightworker, and LGBTQ+ activist. He specializes in Tantra, intimacy healing, and vibration augmentation practices. Out of the closet since 1984, he has witnessed—and survived—the social impacts of homophobia, HIV/AIDS, abuse, and religious discrimination.

He draws from 40 years of experience, both personal and professional, including a background in energy work, theatre arts, spiritual activism, and retreat leadership. His calling is to help others heal through sacred practices rooted in Tantra, energy awareness, and authentic connection.

Now, through our Power of Diversity Retreats, DaddyGuru brings his life’s mission to Lunita Jungle, creating space for queer individuals and allies to heal, remember, and reclaim their power.
